The International Indian Film Academy(IIFA) awards 2011 kicked off today with the arrival of some of India’s biggest stars in Toronto, Canada. Indian stars like Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu , Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Kangna Ranaut flew in for the award show. The Bachchan family will be yet again absent from the IIFA awards. Last year Mr. Amitabh Bachchan decided to skip the Sri Lankan edition due to the protests from the film industry down south and now the organizer have done away with the post of the brand ambassador, which was held by Mr. Bachchan since the awards inception. Salman Khan will also be absent given he is currently shooting for his upcoming film, Bodyguard (2011) , while Shahrukh Khan will be performing at the IIFA awards after a 5 years gap. Singer Jermaine Jackson, brother of Michael Jackson, is among the international celebrities participating in the three day event.

Abhishek Bachchan Wears Mumbai Indian Jersey Shah Rukh Khan House

Abhishek Bachchan showed up at Karan Johar’s 39th birthday party being held at Shah Rukh Khan house wearing a jersey of the Mumbai Indian IPL team. This was after Shah Rukh Khan’s team Kolkata Knight Riders was knocked out of IPL after they lost to Mumbai Indians. Being a generous host and a sportingly person SRK was not offended by it. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had also come to the party.

The crowed went crazy when Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan and actress Priyanka Chopra landed at Kuala Lumpur Airport in Malaysia on Valentine’s Day to shot some scenes for Don 2 The Chase Begins Again (2007) . The two actors were mobbed at the international airport by fans who pushed and shoved to get an autographs. The two stars along with their 60 man film crew begin their filming in historical city of Malacca.

Just before release of his movie, My Name Is Khan (MNIK) (2010) on 12 February 2010 Shahrukh Khan has be embroiled in a exchange of words with Shiv Sena for favouring Pakistani players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and supporting them. On Saturday SRK said that he didn’t owe an apology to the party but was not seeking a “confrontation” either. In an interview to a TV channel, SRK said,” I have not said anything that is anti-national.” Some of the posters of his movie have been burned and taken down, and now the release of this movie in Mumbai could be in jeapordy.
Now the questions all Indian must ask is that is this fare that a person in a Decormatic conutry cannot speak his mind without being afriad of remification of this words from a political party from within the country itself? Do we really want such fear withour own people or do we want to leave as one?

In 2007, it was SRK in Om Shanti Om (2007) and Aamir Khan in Taare Zameen Par (2007) , then in 2008 it was SRK with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (RNBDJ) (2008) with Aamir following with biggest box office hit of the year Ghajini Remake (2008) , now in 2009 the two stars will have releases close to each other, SRK’s My Name Is Khan (MNIK) (2009) is scheduled to release in november 2009, while 3 Idiots (2009) starring Ammir will release on December 25, 2009. We will have to wait and see which film hits box office success this time.
Will Shahrukh be able to overcome Ammir last two success and come out on top in 2009?

Shahrukh Khan (SRK) is currently back home in Mumbai , India. Before leaving for Los Angeles to shooot for Karan Johar ‘s My Name Is Khan (MNIK) (2009) SRK was adviced by the doctor to immediately perform the shoulder surgery and not to delay it. The shoulder ligament were tore during shooting for Dulha Mil Gaya (2009) last December. SRK will now have to wait for the surgery since his home production Billo Barber (2009) will be releasing February 13, 2009.
