Katrina Kaif has been signed opposite legend of the south, Rajnikanth to star in the upcoming film Kochadaiyaan being directed by his daughter, Soundarya. Rajinikanth plays a king, a devotee of Lord Shiva. The story is a love story in which Katrina is his love. The music of the film will be provided by AR Rahman , who will bring together 130 musicians from Germany to record the background score. The film is expected to be shot with the kind of technology used in Hollywood movie, Avatar.

Deepika Padukone will be acting opposite the king of the south Rajinikanth in the upcoming movie Rana (2011) . Deepika will be playing the role of the young Rajini’s love in the movie, which is suppose to start shooting in Chennai but before the shot can start Rajinikanth would like the make up team to give a new look to Deepika. He would like Deepika to look simple yet traditionally beautiful. In the movie Rajini is in a triple role. The movie is being directed by K. S. Ravikumar with music from mastro AR Rahman.

Shankar’s Robot (Enthiram) (2008) is now Enthiram (2008) (Tamil for Robot). The title of the movie had to be changed since Shahrukh Khan ’s Red Chillies has already registered the movie name Robot with Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP) in Mumbai . Now that the name has been resolved, the crew left for the USA last week to start to shot two songs composed by AR Rahman, starting September 8. Other details provided by Producers Ayngaran International Films Pvt Ltd and Eros International include Mary E Vogt will design the futuristic outfits, Stan Winston Studio (USA) will do the animatronics and Yuen Woo Ping is in charge of the stunts. Visual effects (VFX) will be provided by Hollywood companies ILM, Tippet, Cafe EFX and Centro and Menfond based out of Hong Kong. The movie stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajnikanth .
Mary E Vogt has worked on the costume designer of Men in Batman Returns, Black, and Inspector Gadget. Yuen Woo Ping has worked on Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Matrix and Kill Bill. Stan Winston Studio has helped with Predator, Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, Iron man, Terminator and I Robot.

There are talks that Bollywood filmstar Aishwarya Rai may play a role in Shankar’s forthcoming film Robot (2008) opposite South film superstar Rajnikanth . The director Shankar who latest release Sivaji The Boss has created box office records and was recently in Mumbai to talk to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The film Robot is backed by Sony Pictures and is expected to have a budget of 100 crore or more.
