Bollywood superstart Amitabh Bachchan will setup a girls college in Uttar Pradesh named after his daughter in law and Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan . The Daulatpur village committee has handed over the land to Amitabh Bachchan Sewa Samiti (ABSS), a newly formed organisation and the construction will commence soon. The school will start by having classes for nursery to class 12 and then be upgraded to degree college. Bachchan had laid the foundation stone of Aishwarya Rai College in the Daulatpur village on January 27, 2008.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan , the Indian actress and former Miss World, gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday, her husband, Abhishek Bachchan , confirmed on Twitter. “IT’S A GIRL!!!!!!” wrote Abhishek Bachchan, 35, a Bollywood actor who married the former Miss World, 38. In 2007, Aishwarya Rai had been called the most beautiful woman in the world. The baby girl was born at the Seven Hills Hospital in the Mumbai suburb of Andheri. Bachchan’s father, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan , also Tweeted about the new arrival, calling her “the cutest baby girl.”

On Tuesday, October 18, 2011 Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had her baby shower (Godh Bharai) at their residence at Jalsa in Mumbai , India. The Gody Bharai was hosted by Aishwarya’s mother in law and Amitabh Bachchan’s wife Jaya Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan flew in from Jaipur where he was shooting for Bol Bachchan (2011) and his sister, Shweta flew in from Delhi. But father in law Amitabh Bachchan missed the celebration given he is in Australia shooting for Hollywood film The Great Gatsby. As per Indian customs, Aishwarya will go stay with her mother after the baby shower and the Rais will follow their own customs and traditions.

Madhur Bhandarkar has finally come out and spoken his mind about the way former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan , handled the announcement of her pregency. The movie was announced at the Cannes on May 13, 2011 with shooting to start on June 7, 2011 but on June 21, 2011, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan announces via Twitter that her daughter in law is 5 month pregenant. Per Mr. Bhandarkar the movie was written for Aishwarya and required huge canvas of around 40 locations in which heavy-duty scenes involving massive crowds are to be shot, actress being mobbed, adult content, heavy-duty scenes involving physical exertion, and actress was required to smoke on screen and given Aishwarya condition it was deemed that she would not be able to do just to the part as written. Mr. Bhandarkar feels that Aishwarya could have handled the matter by either not signing the film, or letting him know about the pregnancy directly vs via the news channels.

Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming movie Heroine (2011) starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan , Arjun Rampal and Arunodya Singh begin shooting today in Mumbai, India. The movie is produced by UTV production and was announced at the Cannes Film Festival on May 13, 2011. Manish Malhotra will style Aishwarya in the film.
Here is the synopsis released along with the press note at Cannes:
“The film is based on the life and times of a superstar heroine from Bollywood.
