Olympic US Basketball Team

The US basketball team wrapped up their final exhibition game with a win over Australia 87-76. Now they will be heading to Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympics . The US basketball team was undefeated during their exhibition games but will have some tougher games during the Olympics. Dwyane Wade scored 22 points and LeBron James .

Boston Celtics Win NBA Championship Title 2008

The Boston Celtics won the Basketball News NBA Championship Title by crushing the Los Angeles Lakers 131 to 92 in the 6th game of the final. The Celtics played well all around with their key players playing their best game with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen ledding the way with 26 points each, and Rajon Rondo with 21 points, while Paul Pierce only had 17 points but made up with 10 assists. The win marks Boston’s 17th NBA Championship, the last one over 22 years ago. Only last year, Boston finished with league’s worst records with just 24 wins, marking a great turned around by the team and their coach, Doc Rivers.
On the other hands the Lakers seemed to have been jetlagged by their trip from the west coast. Kobe Bryant started well with 3 three pointer in the first couple of minutes, but then was kept quite for the rest of the game with no major impacts. He could not break thru the Boston’s defenese.

Washington Wizards Move On

Washington Wizards won their final game at home this season to solidify their 5th slot in the playoff standings. The Wizards backups players played really well to beat Indiana Pacers 117-110 to eliminate Indiana from playoff race. Wizards Roger Mason scored 31 points to lead the team. Now the Wizards will face Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoff. Last year the Wizards were swept by the Cavaliers in the playoffs. The Wizards will finish of the season by playing the final regular game against Orlando .
